I enjoyed reading this book about Rade and Dylan. Dylan lost her fiancee in a hiking accident which his body was never found and presumed dead. Lily (Dylan's friend) gets her to go out and that is when she meets Rade. He is dominant and controlling and can't leave Dylan alone, he has an all-consuming need to be with her and to protect her. Someone is out to harm Dylan and Rade has a secret he is keeping from Dylan. Can they both survive? I look forward to reading more books by this author and I recommend reading this book.
What happens when a dominant man meets a head strong woman? One heck of a rollercoaster ride is what you get.

I want to start with the things I liked. I feel it's always important to give an honest and fair review and point out strengths and weaknesses.
What I liked... I really liked Rade. He was someone I thought I would dislike due to his original motivations for meeting and pursuing Dylan. However, I found myself really enjoying the character and understanding and empathising with him. It didn't hurt that he was sexy, powerful and very sweet.
I also liked the storyline. It had drama, some humor, romance and kept things intriguing enough to keep my attention and keep me guessing at some things.
I also loved that Dylan didn't immediately fall into bed with Rade. Too often the heroine maintains her virginity for whatever reason only to fall into bed with the hero within hours of meeting. While I'm a fan of instant love, I don't enjoy the heroine giving up her long-held virginity so easily. So I liked that Dylan held out for a bit... though I appreciated that enough happened between them to still keep the story sexy and the UST ramped up.
Okay now for my negatives with the story... Dylan drove me crazy. I wanted to feel for her and understand her, but her back and forth, hot and cold with Rade just irritated me. And while I'm guessing Evan will be playing more of a role later on, for now, I found him unnecessary and something else I didn't respect Dylan for.
I also felt that things weren't consistent enough. Dylan defends Rade to Lilly only to get pissed at him. She is scared but puts herself in danger. She wants to experience the BDSM lifestyle but doesn't want Rade to have any control over her. I just found myself getting more and more frustrated with Dylan and by the end, I kind of wanted Rade to walk away and leave her to her fate.
My only other negative is the editing. This book seriously needs more editing. I'm not someone that normally cares about misspelled words or improper tenses, but this book even bothered me at times with the poor quality of the editing.
Overall I give this book three stars. It was worth the read, but it won't go down as a favorite. I will read the other two books to see who is after Dylan, what her dead (or maybe not so dead) fiance has to do with anything, and to see what happens when she finds out the entire truth about Rade. I'm hoping Dylan will grow on me in time and I definitely look forward to more Rade.
I want so very much more of these characters!!!! The story seems like a typical billionaire romance until you really start getting into the story. The twists and turns definitely keep you on the edge of your seat or on your toes!!! Loved it and can't wait to read the next one!

Overall the book had a good fast pace. However, I felt there were some scenes that were cut short and could have been developed better. I did not read anywhere ahead of time that it was a cliff-hanger and was surprised to find it so. The author needs to do more research into BDSM. The conflict of Rade not wanting to show Dylan the BDSM side of him needed a stronger development. It would not be logical for him to continue his relationship with Dylan without that development. Also a BDSM conflict arose at the beginning of chapter 22. Rade, the male character and Dom, leaves a note for Dylan, his love mate (maybe slave), that at the end says “. . . no underwearâ€. Yet the next page Dylan gets to Rade’s office and Rade takes Dylan’s bra off and they have sex. I’m no expert but I do know that “no underwear†means no bra or panties. If Rade was a true dominant he would have either threatened to punish Dylan at that moment or at a future time, because she disobeyed him. Yet nothing was said. I gave a score of four because although the characters needed deeper development the author left me with enough curiosity to buy the other two books of the trilogy.
